Hospice DirectoryHospice CareHospice care gives a terminally ill patient the dignity of living at home with family, or in care homes specializing in the palliative needs of terminal illness. Hospice facilities may be located within a a hospital, or they may be independent. In addition to caring for the patient, hospices may provide bereavement counseling to help family members through the grieving process. Respite care may also give families a rest from the intense work of caring for seriously ill loved ones. Hospice care is generally recommended during the last 6 months of life, and in the U.S. it is usually 100% covered by medicare. Hospices provide care much more cost-effectively than hospitalization. Families who have benefited from hospice care are grateful for this much needed service. Many jobs are available providing hospice care, including CNA nurse assistant jobs, as well as housekeeping jobs which do not require a great deal of training, or fluent English language proficiency. |
